The Ukrainian Levkoy is an experimental breed developed in Ukraine by combining Donskoy-derived hairlessness with folded-ear ancestry related to the Scottish Fold. It typically has a long angular head, forward-folded ears, elastic wrinkled skin and a slender muscular body. The breed is not recognized by CFA, TICA, FIFe or GCCF. Because its defining appearance combines two mutations with meaningful welfare implications, prospective owners should prioritize orthopedic function, skin health and transparent veterinary evidence over novelty.
A breed profile describes a population, not a fixed personality or medical destiny. Ethical selection starts with the individual cat’s welfare, documented background and suitability for the home. Registry standards describe exhibition ideals; they do not rank one cat’s value as a companion.
